Displaced Yankee Chick in Texas

This blog chronicles my life as a displaced Yankee chick in Texas. I'm from the NY/NJ/PA area and quit my job 1.5 years ago to move to TX with DH and become a SAHM to our 3 kids (2 DDs and 1 DS). **Please note that names have been changed to protect the innocent.**

It gets me, every single time...

I finally got to sit down and put on the TV at about 9:40 tonight, which is 20 minutes before the late news. I discovered that my favorite movie, "It's a Wonderful Life", was on. So I half watched the last 20 minutes of it while checking my email. And then it happened. Just like it always does. Harry Bailey races in the crowded house, toasts his big brother George, "the richest man in the world." And I start to cry. Every. Single. Time. I don't know what it is, but I am always brought to tears at the end of the movie. If it hasn't happened before, then I start crying when George finds Clarence's book, which is inscribed, "George, Remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings. Clarence" It gets me every single time.
